Cambodia — November 1, 2012 - November 11, 2012
International Medical Relief is partnering with Cambodia on a major goal of the country: to improve access to healthcare and awareness to health conditions. The United Nations Millennium Project proclaimed that only 13 percent of the country visited health facilities last year, and 22.9 percent of children die before the age of 5. Treatable diseases like malaria, intestinal parasites, cholera, diarrhea, tuberculosis, as well as vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, are endemic and claim lives everyday. IMR will meet our goals by providing needed medicines to Cambodia and also raising awareness of important health concerns and educating patients how to take healthcare matters into their own hands. We will be working with the poorest Cambodians as well as Vietnamese refugees that have no current access to the health system. After an arduous clinic schedule, the team will have the opportunity to participate in a magnificent tour of some ancient sites outside Phnom-Penh. Extend your stay and journey up to Angkor for a world class Wat tour.
