Somaliland Surgical Mission Trip —



Bordering Ethiopia, Djibouti and Puntland, lays the region of Somaliland.  The public healthcare system is in the process of being rebuilt.  IMR worked in Somaliland in 2007 to bring a surgical, dental and medical team to the area to do extensive medical care for patients that had not had any medical attention previously.  Our surgical work included general surgery in a Somaliland hospital and general medical clinics in these same and other areas in villages of need.  He we were able to treat hundreds of patients and provide preventative care for mothers and families to reduce the health risks of their children with already weakened immune systems.
