JOIN EFFORTS AGAINST COVID-19

A CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

SERVE ACROSS THE UNITED STATES

International Medical Relief has been invited by national and state partners to assist with community-based testing locations for COVID-19. WE NEED YOUR HELP! There is an urgent need for volunteers throughout the United States. You do not need to have medical expertise to volunteer. If you do have a medical background, you will be placed in a position at the testing site most appropriate for your skillset by the site director. Volunteer positions will be assigned at the location on the day you are working. For example, positions at drive-through sites include registration, appointment verification, patient identification validation, eligibility for testing, patient testing consent, preparation of test kits and delivery into vehicles, coaching patients and observing the self-swab process, instructing patients about delivering samples, educating patients, and next steps.

All volunteers will be provided appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Protective measures will be scaled based upon your role and potential exposure at the testing site.

Volunteer with IMR Today

We need non-medical and medical volunteers. We are looking for volunteers between the ages of 18 and 64. You should NOT volunteer if you are experiencing health issues, pregnant or nursing, have pre-existing conditions which may make you more vulnerable for infection, are not feeling well, have a fever, or are infected with the coronavirus. More details can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/index.html

WHERE DO YOU NEED ME?

Volunteers are urgently needed in all 50 states. Itineraries are developed in response to the greatest need, and new needs are identified daily. When you register, you can select the location at which you would like to volunteer. For opportunities in Colorado, please go here.

WHEN DO YOU NEED ME?

Most locations for testing, tracing, training, and support require daily staffing. Volunteers are asked to donate any period of time that meets the needs of their schedule, to the location of their choice. Working hours are generally 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM; however, this may vary depending on need.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Volunteers will participate in many roles to assist with the testing, tracing, training, and support initiatives for COVID-19. Protective measures are implemented at all sites to reduce the risk of infection and keep both patients and volunteers safe. Anyone can make a difference ─ both medical and non-medical volunteers are needed!

A Message from IMR’s President & Founder

At IMR, we want to extend our support and best wishes to all the health care workers who are affected by COVID-19 around the world.  Our medical community has been greatly impacted, and we express our sympathies and support to them, as well as our other families, friends, patient communities, and peers who are in the medical and mission industries around the world. Like other natural and manmade disasters that IMR has assisted with over these past two decades, this is a challenge that we will overcome and, as a result, become more resilient.

Now, more than ever, we are united together with our hosts and determined to help the communities we serve. We are preparing for the future as we always do and working here at home to help where we can now. At this time IMR is actively reaching out to all of our volunteers to help staff COVID-19 testing sites around the country. These testing sites are scaling up rapidly and now, more than ever, IMR needs our medical community to come together for our nation here at home. Please join IMR as we serve our vulnerable and needy communities and get COVID-19 testing and results in the hands of those that need them.

We are actively engaged at the federal and state levels around the country. The need is great. Please consider joining our cause. We need your support. We ask that you share this opportunity with others who also may be interested in participating. Help in this recovery effort by supporting IMR and our communities. We remain confident that in the upcoming months we will be back more united than ever engaging in provider and patient partnerships, showing kindness, and saving lives.

We can’t wait to welcome you back! Together we are stronger. Together we can save lives.  Join us.
