We have arrived – safely! Though the trip was long, we were welcomed by our host Suzy. The team rested up and then we were treated to a traditional Armenian dinner. Delicious! For our after dinner stroll, we ended up in Center City at the dancing fountains complete with music and lights. We are off to bed now, and looking forward a wonderful day at the lake tomorrow, followed by clinics in rural villages and towns. -The IMR Armenia Team
Day 2: This morning we woke up to a wonderful breakfast made by some team members and fresh coffee! Our wonderful tour guide, Suzy, then took us to one her favorite spots to vacation – the highest lake in the word. We visited a monastery and saw wonderful views of the lake. Our translators met us by the shores of the lake and we enjoyed a homemade BBQ lunch and fun in the sun. Halfway through our day we were interrupted by thunder and rain. Due to the weather conditions, we returned to town and were able to do some shopping. -The Armenia Team
Tonight the team will meet and discuss their plans for tomorrow, pre-pack medications, and prepare for clinic in the morning. Tomorrow they will be leaving for the countryside and their first clinic. They may not have internet, but they will have plenty of hot weather and local volunteers to work with!
Here are some photos from the team’s first few days in Armenia.
