My first medical mission experience in Senegal is one I will never forget. Coming into a new country and jumping completely out of my comfort zone, I had no idea what to expect. I’ve been a nurse for over a year and I’ve always dreamed of going on a medical mission trip to Africa. I’m so glad I chose to go to the most hospitable county of Senegal and was able to work with some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. Amy was an incredible leader bringing us to the beautiful Talibe children and providing them with medical care some have never received. These boys with always hold a special place in my heart and I feel so blessed to be able to meet them and care for them. We were able to go to three different places to care for the Talibe and each brought new experiences and allowed our team to grow stronger and provide the best care to these children. During this trip we were also able to provide care to several Senegalese women on International Women’s Day. Although these women weren’t as in need as the Talibe children, it was very special to be a part of an international holiday and care for these women and provide them with what they needed. – Michelle, RN, Team Senegal Volunteer

I will always remember the long hard days in clinic and the medical care we provided but it was really the incredible people I met while providing said care that will impact me for a lifetime. I am beyond grateful for all I have learned and will carry it with me in all my future endeavors. Au revoir, Senegal! – Tasha, Team Senegal Volunteer
